Tom Sullivan writes the Innovation Pulse column for Healthcare IT News, and drives coverage of the HIT, people, policies and technologies underpinning the next generation of healthcare in America, from large health networks all the way down to solo practitioners and, of course, the most important aspect: patients.
Prior to HIMSS Media, Tom was News Editor of IDG's InfoWorld, directing a dozen reporters' coverage for the weekly print publication and daily website. He is a Neal finalist and multiple ASBPE award-winner whose work has appeared on CNN, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Healthcare IT News, Healthcare Finance News, and a range of technology publications, including Computerworld and PCWorld.
In this kick-off session, four healthcare leaders discuss their journey to the cloud: What applications have they put in the cloud? What went well, what didn’t? Have the promised business and clinical benefits materialized? What cloud service providers do they use and why? What is their approach to securing data in the cloud and vetting vendors?
Speakers will discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly, and in the process give attendees deep insights into how best to develop their own cloud-computing strategy.
This last session of the day is an opportunity for attendees to share what they consider to be the day's key takeaways. We'll have two floor microphones and attendees can take turns sharing their thoughts on the role of cloud computing in healthcare. We'll also hear from some of our speakers.
