CLOUD COMPUTING FORUM: A HIMSS EVENT
Las Vegas, NV - March 5, 2018
Serkan is Chief Technology Officer at Zocdoc. With more than 17 years of professional software development experience, he is responsible for Zocdoc’s technical roadmap and strategy, and scaling software architecture and systems.
Serkan comes from a family steeped in healthcare. His front-row view of the pain points in both the patient and provider experiences spurred a personal passion to improve the current system through technology and his work at Zocdoc.
Before joining Zocdoc, Serkan was a technical leader for a team of more than 70 developers across four locations at Amazon working to define and design the ecommerce leader’s architectural strategy for Catalog and Selection Systems.
Prior to his time at Amazon, Serkan spent three years at Goldman Sachs building trading systems that are powered by real-time social media analytics insights and unified communications – a first in Wall Street.
Serkan began his career at Microsoft, where he spent more than 10 years. He served as an engineering manager on the Windows team and later a manager of the core development team which shipped the first five major releases of Microsoft OCS/Lync Service, a product that reached $1 billion in revenue faster than any other Microsoft product before it.
Zocdoc is an online healthcare scheduling service that receives 6 million patient visits a month. In less than 12 months, Zocdoc became a cloud-first organization to meet their business goals. This digital transformation allowed for rapid innovation and the ability to deliver products that align with demands of the 21st century patient.
The cloud has provided Zocdoc with the ablility to eliminate friction and complexities that patients experience when interacting with the healthcare system. From easily booking doctor appointments to deciphering complex insurance plans, Zocdoc gives power back to the patient to take control of their healthcare needs.
In this session, Zocdoc will explain how healthcare organizations also can leverage the cloud to become more agile and better meet the demands and expectations of a changing market.
