As the senior vice president of Population Health, Hamilton focuses on business growth and financial performance of the Population Health organization; innovative strategies to improve quality, lower cost and improve the health of populations; development of the HealtheIntentSM platform and our portfolio of Population Health solutions; and strategic Population Health program implementation and adoption.
Ryan helped craft the vision for Population Health and the HealtheIntent platform, helping to build a world-class team of leaders who have nurtured, evangelized and delivered on the shared mission and strategies.
He joined Cerner in 1993 as a software engineer. His primary focus is creating large- scaled, unified platforms around the automation of both health and care.
He led the design and development of Enterprise Scheduling and Eligibility for Millennium. In the mid-2000s, he led the team responsible for demonstrating, developing and deploying England’s Choose and Book electronic referral system. The unique service is used nationwide by NHS primary care physicians to refer patients to hospital specialists, taking into account capacity, health status and the patients’ own preferences. In 2011, he helped launch Cerner’s PowerChart TouchTM mobile platform over Millennium+®.
The amount of data available to health care organizations has grown exponentially. All types of organizations from provider organizations to health plans and employers are seeking out ways to manage petabytes of data, and to normalize that data so it can be used in a meaningful way.
