Data Governance in the Cloud

March 5, 2018
3:15pm - 3:45pm
Mouton 2

Information governance and privacy are at the forefront of business, consumer and patient concerns. New technologies enable businesses and governments to collect and analyze exponentially greater quantities of information.  Meanwhile, privacy laws greatly restrict the sharing of individually identifiable health information, which prevents researchers around the world from accessing data and collaborating.

A governance framework that includes data-risk benefit analysis and evidence-based practices can enable an organization to obtain the right tools to achieve and sustain demonstrable data governance and unlock data.

Key takeaways from this presentation:

  • Responsible data stewardship: Builds and maintains patient and consumer trust.
  • Risk benefits analysis: Unlocks the value of data for broader uses and knowledge building by design.
  • Cloud enablement: Technologies that support centralized data-driven transformation.
